Margaret Hulsing
ROCKWELL
Margaret Hulsing, 90, of 126 Westview Drive, Rockwell, died
Saturday (Feb. 17, 1996) at Rockwell Community Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Grace
Baptist Church, Sheffield, with the Rev. Bruce Rulapaugh officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. at the Meservey Cemetery,
Meservey.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Grarup
Funeral Home, Sheffield.
Margaret Hulsing was born on Oct. 21, 1905, in Meservey, the
daughter of George and Tena (Wiemann) Gerdes.
She attended school in the Meservey area.
On Feb. 8, 1926, she was united in marriage to Carl Hulsing
Sr. in the First Reformed Church of Meservey.
They made their home farming in the North Iowa area until starting
the family farmsted outside of Rockwell in 1944. In 1968, she
and her husband retired and moved into Rockwell.
She enjoyed doing crochet work making many items for her family
and friends.
She was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Sheffield, along
with its Women's Missionary Fellowship, White Cross Society and
the Busy Bees. She also belonged to the Birthday Club and the
Serving Club of Rockwell.
She is survived by one daughter, Lennetta Frey and her husband,
Carl, of Sheffield; four sons, Carl Hulsing of Rockwell; Myron
and his wife, Shirley, of Rockwell; Don and his wife, Virginia,
of Rockwell, and Vern and his wife, Bev, of Mason City; 16
grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one daughter,
six sisters and five brothers.
