- Jack R. Kapp, age 72, passed away at his home in Perry, Utah, on March 14, 2007. Jack was born in August of 1934 in Ogden, Utah to Jacob and Ruth Saunders Kapp. When Jack was 12 the family moved to Vale, Oregon where he was raised. In 1953 he married Sue Farson and they soon moved to Brigham City, Utah. He received his Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from BYU in 1958 and his Masters Degree from USU in 1969. He started working for Thiokol in 1958 where he worked until he retired in 1989 as the Director of Space Operations. Jack and Sue served an LDS Mission to the Dominican Republic from 1990-1992. He worked hard to become very proficient in Spanish and loved the language and the people. He served as a Bishop and a Counselor in the Stake Presidency and also in many other positions in the LDS church. Jack was a man of many talents. He had a passion for music, sports, woodworking and especially teaching the Gospel, however, his greatest love was for his wife and Eternal companion who would have celebrated their 54th anniversary on March 23, 2007. We will forever remember him as a wonderful, wise, and kind, husband, father and grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed by all. His influence will live on in each of us. He is survived by his wife, Sue and six children, Kathy (Rick) Blacker of Perry, Utah, Kenny (Becky) Kapp of Bountiful, Utah, Sharon (David) Olsen of LaVerkin, Utah, Jeanette (Kyle) Jeppesen of Rexburg, Idaho, Jerry (Jill) Kapp of Taylorsville, Utah, and Shanna (Kevin) McNeely of Perry, Utah. He is also survived by one brother and two sisters, Gary (Diane) Kapp of Provo, Utah, Janice (Douglas) Perry, of Provo, Utah and Annette (Thayne) Anderson of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. At the time of his passing he had 23 Grandchildren and 47 Great-grand children. Funeral services will be held at the Perry 8th Ward Chapel (685 W 2250 S – Perry, Utah) on Monday, March 19, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. Viewings will take place Sunday, March 18, 2007, at Gillies Funeral Chapel (634 S 200 E – Brigham City, Utah) from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Monday at the Church from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
